Middle Farm’s massive live room is the heart of the studio. With rug covered wooden floors, stone walls, and a huge and high pitched pine ceiling, the room lends itself perfectly to live band and drum tracking as well as overdubs. The natural acoustic is wonderful, it’s almost impossible to get a bad sound in this room! There is plenty of natural light and line of sight to the control room and booths. Heated by a roaring wood burning stove (or oil fueled central heating if preferred) it’s a wonderfully inspiring space in which to make music, easily accommodating ensembles well into double figures.

Middle Farm’s homely control room is the brain of the studio. The room is spacious and comfortable combining cutting edge digital recording technology with a powerful collection of analogue outboard, monitoring by Quested and an extensive inventory of instruments, amps and effects. The hand carved oak equipment racks by Helluvakinky Woodworks, antique mahogany bureau, stylish Eames chairs and sumptuous leather sofas give a feeling of organic warmth, a perfect place for creative minds to meet. Heating is provided by wood burning stove and/or oil fired central heating.
There is a comprehensive selection of recording equipment to accommodate the most complex of sessions. The list below gives an overview:

The Pool Room is situated in a separate building adjacent to the main studio above the accommodation bunk room. This space is versatile, functioning as a lounge and games room set away from the bustle of the main studio and a useful workspace for writing, editing, programming and overdubbing. With extensive tie lines through to the main studio it can also be used as an additional recording space.
The Pool Room is currently shared with Milk & Bone Design, whose studio space occupies the far end of the room.

The main booth is attached to the live room. It is large enough to comfortably accommodate a full drum kit and ideal for isolating amplifiers, tracking vocals, or any instrument that requires a tight and dry acoustic.

These is also a space in 'the wall' between the live and control room which can serve as an intimate vocal booth or another isolation space for amplifiers.
The studio kitchen is next to the control room and offers facilities for those who wish to self cater. There are two large fridge freezers, washing machine and tumble drier, and most importantly the Middle Farm espresso rig!

The main accommodation room sleeps up to 10 people in a hostel style with beautifully hand carved oak bunks (six singles and two doubles) by Helluvakinky Woodworks and shower room. Aditional private rooms in the main farmhouse and small self catering cottage are available on special request.
At Middle Farm coffee is taken very seriously! Beans are sourced from our local artisan roaster The Coffee Factory. Brew options include a Gaggia Classic Espresso Machine, Aeropress and Cafetiere, and grinding comes from our La Pavoni ZIP Grinder.
A full catering service can be provided on request by Middle Farm's wonderful landlady Annie. Her fantastic home cooked food is freshly prepared providing for all tastes and dietary requirements. Meals are served in the homely kitchen of the main farmhouse offering the perfect opportunity to escape the studio, refuel and recuperate.
